Newb carpet question

I'm getting ready to order a full carpet pan for my IROC. I'm dumping the saddle color and going black on black with gold piping on my seats and a little custom stitching in the head rests:-]

Anyway, I have an option of with, or without, a console cutout. I am guessing the only reason one would go without the cutout is if they were eliminating the console or want more sound dampening on the tranny tunnel.

That being said, my factory console is going back in. Why would I pick one over the other? Just want to educate myself before dropping the $$$.

Thanks!

Re: Newb carpet question

Go with the cutout. No reason to try and mess with the noncut. Unless u have a custom center console

Re: Newb carpet question

The only reason to go without a cutout would be if you're not planning on reusing the factory console (aftermarket stand-alone floor shifter, custom console, etc). Get the cutout version to simplify the install process a bit

don't be surprised if you still have to enhance the cutouts a wee bit. Be sure to have a good sharp utility knife
