What's this?
I was getting in my car this morning and I noticed this broken spring, soft sleeve, and broken piece of plastic poking out from underneath the back of my driver's seat:

Is this some type of seat spring that broke? I tested my seat adjustments and they work as they should; I was steaming the seats/carpet the other day so I had an extractor nozzle under the seat but I don't recall hitting anything, certainly not hard enough to break anything and I probably would've heard/felt it...but I also am 99% certain that hasn't been hanging out under my seat for the last 13 years either, since I know at some point(s) in time I've gotten under the seats to make sure there is no loose items underneath.
What is it?

Slide spring for adjusting front to back. The " net " covers the spring so nothing gets caught in it

Re: What's this?
It connects to the seat rail with a hook end,
the other end is j shaped, hooks to the ear on the slider.
This is on the OUT SIDE of the assembly.
There is a small spring with both ends j shaped.
1 end hooks to the seat rail, the other hooks to the tab of the slider handle.
This is INSIDE the assembly. ( I'll send a pic )
The tab on the handle that goes thru both the rail & slider is strong enough to hold the seat in place, HOWEVER, if the smaller spring on the handle breaks, it takes VERY little effort // force to move the handle, disengaging the tab from the rail // slider.
IDK what the result of that would be. Maybe a lil wiggle // front to back movement?
