So my mirror fell off today

My rear view mirror decided it didn't want to stay on the windshield since the sun was out today...Kind of interesting to get out of class and find your mirror in the seat! What kind of adhesives have you guys used to stick your mirrors on?

I used that stuff for mirrors and it crapped out on me,so I used Crazy Glue and it worked out pretty good.I just had a new windshield put in the other day and didn't think to ask the guy what he used for the mirrors

Mine fell off over the winter. My wife works close to the Oreilly's in my area so i told her to swing in and pick up the glue for me. I also need the metal piece with it. She came home with the metal piece with 3m tape on it. I didn't even know they made those. She said that they didn't even have the glue there anymore. I installed it but wont be driving the car for probably a year so we'll see how it stays on in the garage.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. Used the adhesive from o'reily's, was stuck on there good enough after 60 seconds to hold the mirror and the crap I hang from it.

By the way, love the name. My daughter is a Dakota W. as well.

Re: So my mirror fell off today

Mine fell off recently on my Camaro 'vert. I was adjusting the mirror and it popped off in my hand. Unplugged it and tossed it on the passenger side floor. I'm going to try the epoxy I use to reinforce the motor housings for the rear hatch.

Re: So my mirror fell off today

Happened too me about 3 years ago in the summer.
It was really hot and I was running some errands. When I came back and got in the car there was my rear view mirror just hanging by it's cable.

I work at Mercedes Benz, so I just got the repair kit we use to attach new mirrors to the windshield. Ii's basically some kind of double sided tape. Works like a charm.

Same thing happened to me TWICE about a year ago! I finally resorted to Gorilla Glue and that bad boy hasn't moved since!
