console clock delete
so i am working now on my headlight halos and am running them off the ignition with a toggle switch. i was going to do just a basic illuminated toggle on the dash. but after seeing a post from 87350IROC i liked his illuminated button switches. anyways, im thinking of deleting my semi-functional clock, building a new plate for that spot and putting those switches there. anyone ever do a clock delete?

Re: console clock delete
I actually made an opening to install the clock, but I've seen posters here who have used the roughly 3" clock cutout to install a nice, heavy duty cupholder. If you take out the clock there should be enough room to reach in and install those switches and you will still have room to add a cupholder. My

Re: console clock delete
Off topic a bit, but my clock had issues once upon a time. I was ready to send it in for a refurb when I decided I had nothing to lose: I sprayed it with compressed air, hit it with WD-40, then worked the hands. Years later it still functions as designed. Since not a ton of our cars are equipped with the clock, keeping it might be worth consideration.
I always considered modding an overhead console for switches, etc.
