I found these anyone have any info on them
Im helping a friend part his car out as its been sitting in a field for along time at his parent place and is too far gone to repair. Hes fallen on some financial issues and needs to make a few extra bucks. Anyways we found these while we where stipping it and was wondering if this was a option or was it put in after. Hes not the original owner and when he drove it he didnt car for anything as long as the radio worked.
They seem to be speakers in the kick panels and in the cargo cover that folds up. Any info or value you can think of would help him out

Re: I found these anyone have any info on them
My Camaro White book is at work so I can't look it up at the moment, but I want to say it was an option from 1987-92.
I would assume that the Bose system in Camaros was plagued by the same problems as the Bose system in Corvettes from that era (specifically, each speaker has its own built-in amplifier, and good working originals are nearly impossible to find, with no correct replacement parts available), which really kills the value of these systems in used condition. I would imagine that at this point, these used systems are only valuable as being used for a template to retrofit modern equipment into.
Nonetheless, I still think it's a very cool factory option. The value would depend on what all you would include with the sale; a complete system (head unit, rear cargo cover w/integrated speakers, and ALL other speakers in the car) would net you the most money. However, there is one rear Bose cargo cover on eBay right now, and the guy is asking $55. There are two others in the completed listings that did not sell; one guy was asking $165, the other was asking $80. Just keep in mind that none of these have actually sold for their asking price.
Edit: Apparently there are at least two different styles; one version I've seen always has black speakers regardless of the carpet color, and a later version has speakers the same color as the carpeting.
