Shift ****

I am finally able to work on a car now and wanted to move the car 92 Camaro. The last thing that was done a guy came over and pulled all the aftermarket stereo stuff out. When he pulled off the shifter **** with the console he didn't reinstall it right. Now I can't get the car to shift out of park any ideas. Also just finished up installing new front brake calipers and bleed them. Does this affect the shifter with some switch if not enough brake pressure is applied due to air that may be in it still? Have tried 3 times to make sure the air is out now.

Re: Shift ****

The shifter has a button on top to shift from park to any other gears. I pulled it off and pressed the staple back in along with rebleeding the brakes and it shifts. I need to pump the brakes to the shifter to shift out of park. I may just bring it over and has a shop bleed the brakes to get out the air and old black fluid.

Re: Shift ****

Air in your brake lines should/does not affect the shifter.Let alone keep you from shifting out of park.Must be something the installer did/broke reinstalling.

Have you tried shifting it w/ out the **** inplace?
