Seat Re-Upholstery - Who's had it done?

I scored a roll of dark grey leather from my friend's dad. A good trade for a case of beer. In my 86 iroc I have seats that have seen better days. I intend to take the seats to an upholstery shop to have them redone in leather.

Has anybody had this done on their cars? What kind of price did you pay?

I had mine done just before the summer started. My car had factory cloth carmine seats that were in good shape except that the fronts started to sag a little in the back and they were getting pretty faded.

I took them to a guy that lives by me and had him re do them to my specs, with labor and materials he charged me $570, I gave him $600 just because he did such a great job.

Dash pad would be interesting. Those came out nice!

My car is bright red.. i'm thinking about going with the dark grey leather with a red baseball style stitch. I wonder what i'm going to get charged if i provide my own materials.

Quality work does not come cheap. The local guy who repaired my drivers seat and cleaned both front seats charges about $85.00 per hour for labor. The workmanship was outstanding; I can barely tell where the tears were. Both seats look like new. If some one offers you less than $50.00 per hour, check his work.

Re: Seat Re-Upholstery - Who's had it done?

My fathers 89 iroc had the deluxe leather interior in tan that looked like joekonik seats after the leather was installed
It had the leather bolster and seating surface with the weird design cloth in the middle and it cost us 1400 do have all seats reupholstered especially cuz that stupid cloth was hard to come by cuz of its unique pattern

Re: Seat Re-Upholstery - Who's had it done?

whats with all the low price stuff?

i have been looking to get just some pads made. to swap out the pads in my Recaro seats... (profi SPG seats)

seats are new.. just all red and, i wanted to add some black to them.

the pads are held in with Velcro 3 pads on ea seat. 2 seats.

pads are small.. and everybody in my city wants $300 TO COPY THE PADS!!

I'm going to call around to a few shops in my area (detroit metro) and see what I can come up with.
