Wrong speed reading
Hi,
I have 1991 firebird LO3 in which the previous owner made some changes?? and calibrated a 140mph speedometer to it. I changed back to the original 120mph speedometer (91-92;electrical)now it is not marking the proper speed. My questions are:
1- can I recalibrate the current speedometer to the. Or react speed?
2- what mechanical changes could alter the speedometer reading?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Wrong speed reading
I know that if you change rear end gears that will mess with the speedo reading. Cus mine is off about 10 mph til i get 45mph then its around 15mph off. But my rear end was swapped from 3.08 to 3.73 and als my tranny was swapped from a t5 to a 700r4.

Re: Wrong speed reading
Yes, very similar. Mine is off about 10mph when my speedo hit 15mph. So i am actually going about 25mph.
