There are 2-3 screws at the bottom that go through the box and into clips on the outer case. They're 10mm screws and are about a 1.5" long... There may be another one that comes in from the other side as well at the top.
Thanks Maverick.
I finally got it off this afternoon. How rude of GM to make me take out the AC radiator and condenser just to get to 1 bolt.

LOL... I forgot about that SOB. I took that crap (the engine side of the A/C box) out so long ago I forgot about that one bolt. I know there were 2 bolts I couldn't put back into the case after I took the A/C box out, but I forgot the high one.Originally Posted by Faded

At least my AC hasn't worked in years and the system was bone dry. So no loss there.

Oh and btw, the insulation pad was nasty as hell so I'm throwing it out. Will Dynamat work well enough by itself as a heat insulator, or should I acquire new insulator material to put over the top of it?

I hear you on the no-A/C... I figure mine hadn't worked since LONG before I bought the car, and was just dead weight, so it got yanked. The blower/evaporator case was the absolute LAST part that got yanked because I couldn't find a non/A/C blower assembly at a decent price. That was probably the cheapest thing I ever got from that yard. I'm glad the guy didn't know just how much those things sell for... Nabbed it for $20 with the blower. Only problems were that the blower motor was kind of on its way out and there was some rust damage (stinking pinholes), but it beats the $100+ some people are selling the boxes for.
As for the sound deadener, IDK what you would do about that... Mine is still in decent shape except for around the steering column and pedals.

I'm going to put the AC back together and try to get it working again because my truck's AC blows like a champion and it's spoiled me, but it's not a priority right now at all. I don't even have seats or a steering wheel installed ATM. hah
