Rust on inside of Roof.

So I decided to remove my headliner today and unfortunately I found rust along the side where the windshield meets.

Guess It was leaking and was never fixed?

Im not sure but it seems as if the only way I can get all the rust out is if I cut, and I definitely dont want to do that.

Can someone please tell me Im wrong

i would wire brush it either manually, or on a drill, then paint it with POR 15 or "chassis Saver" Rust encapsolator by eastwood works well too. I think GM just went really light on spraying paint up there...it rusted because it wasn't protected, doesn't mean that the roof ever leaked.

Re: Rust on inside of Roof.

I have the exact same rust on mine. Size color and location. I think mine was from a deer crash by previous owner and now have a lovely softball size dent above my head. I havent even started to worry about mine to many other projects. Let me know how it goes.

Re: Rust on inside of Roof.

same man I don't really have time to deal with it and it doesn't look serious so I'm not gonna worry about it right now. I'll at least wait till I can get a headliner back in my car before I try and fix this. sounds easy enough though.
