fourth gen dash swap with ls1 swap questions
I did a 4.8 swap to my 89 Camaro and then decided to do the dash swap. I got a dash out of a 99 v6 Camaro and installed it. I wired up the wiring directly from the cluster that had to do with lighting..etc directly to the third gen harness that I left behind the dash. I wired the data wires directly from the ECM.
My gauge cluster is so messed up now that I don't know what to do. The illumination works, which is good. But when I turn on the blinker, the indicator lights up and then when it cycles off, all the warning lights illuminate. Also, the speedometer, tach, oil pressure, and engine temp do not work. Do the gauges need to get a signal from the BCM or some box within the dash?
Someone help! This is so frustrating. I am debating on just getting aftermarket gauges to put in there.

Re: fourth gen dash swap with ls1 swap questions
You need a v8 cluster. That will elliminate most of the problems.

I don't think that is even part of the issue I'm looking at
