I was surprised they would have this much interest. Wow, if someone can get this leather wrap down, they would have something of a small business. Most of these wheels are going to get worse if they are bad already.

I also have one just like that packed away in the garage.

Be careful before you bid though as this will fit any 82-89, but it isn't correct for 84-89 cars.

Re: anyone see this leather wrapped steering wheel with 42 bids at $315??
Can somebody explain to me the differences in these wheels over the years? The "3 deep grooves in the spokes" comment threw me off a bit. I thought the only difference between the "early" and "late" wheels was the thickness of the actual hoop, and I thought it was 86 or 87 where that transition occurred.

Jim, look at the steering wheel spokes. The bottom spoke has a center groove in it like the two side spokes. That was only on the 82 and 83 cars. The 84-89 Z28s only had the groove on the side spokes.

that wheel sold for US $420.00. I guess I need to start looking for good early wheels in the junk yard or cars being parted. Steering wheel puller might be in my future.

Didn't the thickness of the hoop change somewhere along the way too?
