So Time To Wow My Interior
So I dropped off the GTA today at Stitches in Houston. Time for Suede Headliner and Sail Panel Speaker Covers, Leather Sunvisors, Leather Kick Panels where the carpet used to be and replacing the cloth and pockets on the door panels with leather pleated and stitched similar to the Acura NSX design. Can't wait till tomorrow afternoon to pick her up. Probably too much money spent, but hey, I told him to make it look Bad ***. After I post pics, give me your honest opinions. Just curious.

Re: So Time To Wow My Interior
I will take some better pics tomorrow. If you go with microfiber and vinyl instead of alcantara and leather, you can do it for relatively cheap.

Honestly, I work in an Acura Dealership so my nose is numb to the new car smell. I will have to ask my girl. Never really thought about the new car smell. LOL.

Thanks. Trying to keep the original look but just do what GM should have done in the first place if they knew anything about quality back in the 80's.

Re: So Time To Wow My Interior
Still looking to find a company that can make the carpet for me with the more luxurious texture and finish dynamating the floorboards and firewall. Also insulating all the plastic contact surfaces with foam backed tape to tighten fitment and eliminate any possibility of rattles or noises. I have a lot of little things I am doing here and there to up the level of the car. I drive it all the time, in any type of weather even though it is a toy.
Re: So Time To Wow My Interior
You are using suede on the sail panels?? Are you going to use speakers behind them still? If So you are going to run into a sound quality issue. Suede leather wont breathe enough to allow for air movement from the cone push. Your upholsterer should have mentioned this. Everything else sounds sweet, like to see pics when finished.

To many buttons going on in their for me. I like a more rigid 80's minimalist looking interior but that's just me. The quality of the work and materials is bar none! Looks very professional and I love the tan and black too. Great work, keep it up!

And are those speaker covers in the dash stock? if not how did you go about making them? They look great and would be a good improvement over my cracked ones

Looks good. After a new interior like that, I wouldn't want anyone to get into my car again. lol. Btw, love the factory all button radio.

Re: So Time To Wow My Interior
I know the steering wheel looks like it has a lot of buttons... because it does! But you get used to it over time and the volume controls are all right there and you can cycle through the radio stations easily.
I should mention though that I did replace mine with a 15" Grant Formula GT steering wheel (Part #774) and it looks great in there too, I even got the Pontiac arrow head on there... I'd post a pic but the car is at the body shop right now and will be for the next month or two.

That looks great! I'm planning on getting my headliner done in suede too. Am I missing something, though? I only see one picture. I wanna see more!
