Where do these go?
I Had to remove the steering column and the whole dash to get at some nasty rust. I am now ready to put it back together. I removed the dash first and when I dropped the steering column I think that two spaces fell down also. For the life of me I can't figure out where they go or are they really needed. I have attached some pictures, one of the spacer, one of the steering column and one where I think the spacer should go. My best guess is these go between the steering column and where it bolts to the car. Has anyone any idea where these go and what they are for. I have looked in the 1982 Firebird service manual and the 1982 Parts catalog but I can't see these spacers in any diagrams. This is driving me mad.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Where do these go?
Hi,
I put them in between the dash and steering column. That is the only place I can see where they go.
Thanks.

I know someone else that just left theirs out too.. That is all they are is spacers, and not necessary for the function of the steering..
