Floor Mats

This might be a dumb question, but what kind of floor mats do y'all use? Since the front passenger side floor is all dipped in, I didn't know if any regular floor mats would fit. The only ones that came with my camaro were the rear passenger mats.

Thanks for the help!

Re: Floor Mats

I bought the plastic ones. Used a heat gun and formed them to my car floor. Pick up some of the 15$ black plastic ones and a six pack of beer, turn on the radio and go at it. Just do not burn or melt the plastic. I've also had a friend who put them in the oven for 30 minutes at 150* and put them in the car and held them into place with weights so that they can mold. Work's quite good actually.

Oh that actually is a great idea! I can get all of that, except the beer, considering I'm 16 haha. Thanks for the help!

I am only 17... I am not saying you should drink. Check your laws, but in Wisconsin,Milwaukee I can drink in my own residence of my house and yard.

Re: Floor Mats

By the way. I've heard the clear plastic ones melt alot easier then the harder black ones.

Check out Rock Auto or 1A. They sell ACC mats which fit like the originals.

Maybe if I drank it more, I'd like it. But I HIGHLY prefer some good whiskey!

Re: Floor Mats

Mmm....beer...

Back to the topic though, I've heard good things about the Lloyd mats. Also they're a bit larger than others, so they tend to cover more stains/cigarette burns/worn spots. Never seen them in an F-Body, but I've had hundreds of Corvettes come through my work that had them, and they are far and away the best quality carpet you can get for a floor mat.

Downsides: price. I want to say they're around $120 for a set of 4. Other than that, the red and black ones tend to fade (to pink and green respectively) when left out in the sun. Also some people think they are "too thick" or "too plush". Nonetheless, I will probably get a set for my car as it currently has no mats and extremely worn carpet on the driver's side, and they seem to cover better than anything.
