Removing gray paint from firebird dash

I realized that the gray dash support are not molded with the color, but rather painted, unlike other gray plastic parts that are actually gray.

What is the best way to remove the paint (back to black) without melting the plastic?

Acetone, nail polish or rubbing alcohol, they do not create heat like paint remover.

Brake fluid will take it off. It will not harm the plastic. When I needed to strip plastic from a large part I would brush the brake fluid on. It needs to be on there for a day or two and you need to go back every now and then and brush more fluid on.
