Can you repair a power mirror switch

The power mirror switch only works the mirrors up and down and not side to side. Has anyone else had this problem? Can this switch be repaired? One more question. How do I remove this switch without breaking the plastic housing? Do you pry it out or need to remove part of the console?
thanks

Usually the switches just pop in. Most of the time it's just dirty contacts causing the issue. The switches press together, and have tabs holding thing together. Disassemble, clean the contacts with an eraser (ala slot cars), and reassemble the switch.

The model railroad hobby uses an eraser that has a mild abrasive embedded in it. Great for cleaning contacts.

You need to remove the console to release the tabs from the back side.
The mirror switches are junk. Doubtful you will be able to repair it. There are replacements available but they will fail too. I would replace it with a switch from a newer car, almost anything is better.
