Hello.... I was looking at a 1984 Z28. Dash had simulated woodgrain accent on dash on passenger side , drivers guage cluster and shifter console. I am being told this was a factory option. Is that so? My personal opinion...Its ugly and looks aftermarket even if it is factory installed..... any info on this?...I find it hard to beleive its factory.

 

There was both OEM & aftermarket.

 

Thanks....seems out of place in the Z28...It being a sports car. Would seem right in place with a station wagon lol...which is probably why i dont like it

 

The only "factory" one I've seen in a 3rd gen was in that hideous "Tojan" T/A, which I wouldn't really call factory since they were modified outside of the factory.

There were no actual factory woodgrain kits available, thank god. Unfortunately that doesn't keep idiots from adding aftermarket kits.

 

Yeah i cannot for the life of me ever remember this as an option. I also have the 1984 Camaro brochure. There is no indication of it as being a factory option. Yuk is all i have to say.Might as well have added a simulated woodgrain panel down the side of the body with plastic "wood" bordering.
