I'm fairly new to 3rd gens, and recently purchased a T top bag since mine was missing. It's an actual leather-like bag with a Velcro flap that opens up- with a divider inside. Picture a very large purse with 2 big pockets for the T Tops. It does have the straps on the outside, but I can't figure out how to mount them correctly as the little diagram is worn off.

I've no idea if this is a factory type bag or not, but most of the searching I did showed bags that "open" up, not a closed bag like mine. Most have a zipper, mines gotta Velcro flapper. My bag does have a nice stamped logo on it tho, so I think it's a factory bag. Divider has soft felt like stuff on 1 side and "pleather" on the other...I can just barely stuff both tops inside but don't know which way they are supposed to go or how to strap it down in the hatch area...

I have 2 little hook things behind my rear seat, but for the life of me I cannot figure this out. Can someone show me a picture of theirs mounted or a picture of the diagram that's supposed to be on the bag? Or refer me to somewhere?

Your bag should have 4 hooks,2 on each side,1 hook connects to the tie down behind your seat and the other hook connects to the ones protruding from the rear panel.

 

Ahh. That makes sense now, thanks. I think my car is missing the hooks in the rear panel....have to have a lookey-loo to see why they're not there....maybe I'm blind...

the Velcro bags are for the earlier third gens from 82-85-6 or so. later cars got the zip bags. my zipper went south so I went to a tent and awning shop and had a much better zipper installed.
