Led bulbs in gauges

So I was looking at gauge overlays and looking around I saw these. Have any of you done this and have a picture? I searched but couldn't find any pictures of it.

Also are you happy with them over stock.

The description says they are LED bulbs, not an overlay.

Its just some blue (or whatever color you want) LEDs.That is not the way its gonna look.Read the description! instrument cluster back-lighting-straight replacements to stock bulbs. Not overlays, not different text.Just 8 LEDs in your choice of color.Lotta money for 8 LEDs.

Re: Led bulbs in gauges

i have the red LEDs and love them, in fact i plan on getting blue for my Blazer. The red LEDs look as bright as they do in the picture too. dimmer switch works with them as well. however i bought mine from superbrightleds.com. cant recall pricing.

Re: Led bulbs in gauges

Be careful before ordering. Check where the item ships from. Sometimes they may be super cheap, but ship from Hong Kong! You'll be waiting 3 weeks to get the item. I made that mistake once..

Funny you say that because literally 2 months ago I got replacement bulbs just normal, oem ones. So this will just be a test run.

Re: Led bulbs in gauges

Honestly these are almost false advertising. They show a picture of a shine through style gauge which was only an option in later models of our cars, most use a reflective style lighting, as well as there are no stock 220 mph speedos, only refaced ones or after market ones will be like that. So it's just a generic picture set and they change the models of cars etc for all searches. The brightness and colors will differ with different bulbs and colors but for $18 it seems like a gamble.

without seeing the actual bulbs they sell it's hard to compare. These ( http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...edge-base/198/ ) work great in our clusters and for the same price you can get roughly 3 more bulbs and they are know for good quality bright products.

BTW a good overlay company is whitegauges.net, located in Utah, and have superb customer service! will help you find exactly which overlays you need for your vehicle as there are slight changes over the years, and will add extra overlays for no extra cost.

Just sharing some info to help you guys out!!

These are the bulbs I listed with stock gauges and a repainted reflector
plate.

This is what I have now with the same bulbs, minus one that I removed for another project and never replaced and a white overlay from the company for overlays I recommended.

Re: Led bulbs in gauges

Look closely at the advertisement. The gauge they used is in kmh, not mph. So is it still false advertising???
