Mink Oil and Vinyl

Has anyone ever heard of using mink oil on dash pads to "restore the natural oils and moisture" ? The guy at the salvage yard says he uses it on his four-wheeler seat and it has lasted for years. What is everyone else using on their dash pads?

I use mink oil on my Camaros vinyl. it does a good job on vinyl dash pads too
