Sem paint Color
I'm not sure if this has already answered. I did a search, but came up with nothing helpful. I have a 1987 Camaro Sport Coupe with the grey deluxe interior. I have a copy of the original invoice and it says AR9 gray cust cloth. My rear panels are faded very badly, but not broken or brittle. I would like to just repaint them to the stock grey, but I am not sure what color SEM has to match. Does anybody know what color I would need?

Re: Sem paint Color
Thanks. Do I give the shop the AR9 code, or is there another code for the color. I have done interior paint before to. I had a 95 Dodge Intrepid that i repainted the lower half of the dash. and some other pieces with the SEM paint. I had to get a custom mix for that as well.

Re: Sem paint Color
AR9 isn't a paint code... it's more of a description.
You'll likely have to just give them a piece of plastic trim and have them mix/match the dye to that.
If you're lucky, someone else reading this has already done it and can provide the paint/dye code to make it easier...

Re: Sem paint Color
AR9 only describes the type of seat (base), not the color. 82C is going to be your interior color code.
SEM currently does not make anything in an aerosol can to match code 82C, which I think is ridiculous since it was in probably 50% of F-Bodies made from 1984-92. Your SEM supplier can probably custom match something close in a quart can that will have to be applied with a spray gun.
If anyone knows of an out-of-the-can color that works, I would like to know as well. I don't have access to a spray gun, and need to redo the majority of my interior panels also.

Hawk312,82tarecaro and I have ordered our interior plastic paints from BAPS,they do a very good job on matching up the colors.Just call them and give them the info.and they'll quote you a price. You may not like the price(not cheap)but it's a very good match.

Re: Sem paint Color
You could always change the interior color and use the SEM Black

I have also used BAPS thru 82tarecaro as a referral. Got a few cans custom mixed when restoring the MSE interior. Quality paint and a great business to deal with.
