Chrome ignition lock piece

Chrome ignition lock piece

does anyone know the name of that metal piece on the the ignition where your key goes in and theres 2 metal tabs and it turns with the key one of the tabs on mine broke off and im trying to find another one

That is called the ignition switch. You will get a new key when you buy a new one at the parts store. It is available in chrome and black.

No, it will come with two new keys. You will have to pull down the steering column a little to replace it. It is a 10 minute job if you know what you are doing. You will need a steering wheel puller, a lock plate compressor, two picks, a phillips screw driver and I believe it is a T15 torx driver.

It is not called the ignition switch. It is the ignition lock cylinder. the switch is mounted on top of the column under the dash

You are correct. Ignition switch is often used as a synonym for it, but is incorrect. Great correction.
