Door Latch Question
Does anyone know for sure if the actual door latch assembly inside the door that attaches to the striker pin is the same for all 82-92 F-Body (both Firebirds and Camaros)? I need to replace one and need to get the right replacement part. Many thanks!

The earlier latches 3 torks bolts have counter sunk holes on both the door/latch.later years do not.Not sure what yr the change happened.Id guess 87 though.

Don't know about Chevy but Pontiac's are all different,82-87 are the same,88 is different,89-92 are the same.
82-87, P/N R/H,16608234

89-92,P/N,R/H,16608068
89-92,P/N,L/H,16608069
I would assume Chevy's have the same P/N's.

Those are the nos.in the 82-92 Pontiac Parts&Illustration Catalog,they could have changed over time.As far as availability,I would think that their still available.
