question about seatbelt recievers

I have been looking for receivers in black that are in good shape to no avail. Can I use receivers out of a forth gen or even another make /model car that would still latch 3rd gen seat belts? These are for the fronts driver and passenger. Thanks

Re: question about seatbelt recievers

Just not lookin' in the right place !! I can come up with a decent set of black receivers; $50 + shipping a pair. They will work just fine but the buttons are probably a bit 'pink'. There are no cracks and the buttons can be replaced if you want them to look new. Send me a PM with your offer and your ZIP code if your still looking a set.

Re: question about seatbelt recievers

Just about ANY female/reciever buckle from most 70s to early 90s GM car will work
with the factory belts.

I scored a set of recievers and plastic guides from a late 70s Olds Cutlass.
We also used a set from a mid 90s Buick for my buds Bird...............

Cheap and easy to get!

I see new sets of sand gray, tan and brown ones on ebay. I am looking for them in dark gray, no good. I am thinking of getting the sand gray ones and get them painted.

New Sand Grey:

Used pair in black:

New Tan:

New Brown:

All seem to be GM, not reproduction. Hope that helps!

Re: question about seatbelt recievers

Old thread I know.

But I grabbed the receiver out of a 95 Camaro RS, and its too narrow for the buckle to insert. After looking at a bunch of different later cars like mid 90's and later cavaliers its the same, they won't fit as they look the exact same as the 4th gen.

Re: question about seatbelt recievers

That's odd. I have fourth gen receivers in my car that work just fine. Others have done this as well.

Re: question about seatbelt recievers

Did the seat-belts change in 91 with the body styling?

Re: question about seatbelt recievers

Not that I know of. 82 I believe is the only one different with the single retractor instead of the double retractor. Which I'm not a fan of by the way.
