can i put a A/C unit in a 1986 z28 Camaro it did not come with it if yes can you tell me everything i need i am going to start to restore this car and i need A/C in CA.Thank you

If it was equipped from the factory , but someone cut out the Underhood parts, you just need to find the parts at junkyard or eBay, get a new dryer accumulator and fill with 134a.
If it was not factory equipped, you are going to need the heater/ac duct box under the dash as well as vaccum harness as the non ac cars are very different and cable controlled. The bright side is that the non ac factory parts are worth good money to people like myself who delete the ac systems.

I did this with an 85. It was a lot of work to get everything into place. Not just the underhood components. You also need to deal with the extra duct work, vents and vacuum controls. The system will work without the replacement heat/AC controls, but you will need to wire a switch to turn on the compressor.

If you want factory, I would recommend that you get a donor car and get the exploded parts view from the shop manual. Lot of small bolts and bits that you are going to need. Along with a lot of patience. Good luck with the install.
