How to remove recaro seat belt loops...or adapting 4th gen ones to work

So I am looking at removing the seatbelt loops from the stock recaro seats in my 84 15th anniversary T/A. I cannot for the life of me figure this out. One side is broken off, but the other side is fine, just the seat belt isn't running though the loop. Someone have a suggestion so that I don't break these thing off?

Due to the broken one I was also looking at adapting the 4th gen seat belt loop the recaros. I tried putting one on and sure enough the screw holes line up to the seats. Only problem is how to run the seatbelt through the loop? On the 4th gen it slides through the bottom, but I am not seeing this working on the 3rd gen since it also has a lower retractor in the belt. Any one have any tips doing this? I know I can get the convertible 4th gen loops, but I already have multiple sets of the ttop ones so was hoping to use what I already have.

Thanks.

If you want to replace the belt loop on the seat with original style try looking for one for 78-81 Camaro, Firebird, Monte Carlo and some other GM cars.
The Recaro's I bought for my bird did not have the seat belt loops and with much searching found that some of the loops in this era are the same.
I believe that they screw in the center of the loop and then squeeze slightly and they pop out. Or remove the two screws and take the whole base plate off and you can tell from the back side.
I hope this helps some.

Re: How to remove recaro seat belt loops...or adapting 4th gen ones to work

Thank you for the input. Glad to know where I can get some original seatbelt loops if I need them. As far as how they attach it looks like they just snap in. There is basically a top half and bottom half and they snap in to the headrest bracket. There are no screws on the loop itself. There are two screws on the headrest bracket, but I cannot access those with removing the loop first.

There is a small pin hole where the two halves of the loop meet. Do I need to insert something there to release the snap-in portion of the loop?

Re: How to remove recaro seat belt loops...or adapting 4th gen ones to work

I tried to remove these in the past and ended up breaking them.
so I can tell you that ones on ebay for a 81 camaro are an exact match, i have them on mine, these are the ones i bought

http://www.ebay.com/itm/77-81-CAMARO...caab2c&vxp=mtr

I always thought that if i had to remove them again i would try to rotate the loops 90*
use a small flat blade to get the loop over the lip on the bracket
and then if that can be done without breaking them you could take out the two screws and have access from the back to press on the clips

FYI I tried rotating them and it worked. I just rotated 90* towards the front of the car and they snap out with no damage.
