Old seats new covers Guidance

Well I bit the bullet and I think bit off more than I can chew. I bought replacement covers from 1a auto to put on my 88' GTA. Well they have arrived and I am having anxiety attacks over doing this wrong. The hog rings pliers they sent suck, and it is just a bigger job than i thought. Anyone know any good way to deal with the hog rings, or does anyone know a shop in Southern California that does these types of installs? Any guidance would be great.

Go to Harbor Freight or a similar store and buy a pair of small bolt cutters to cut the old rings. Harbor Freight also sells a pair of hog ring pliers that look a lot like the ones I bought from Eastwood. Pick those up and you should be good to go. Just take your time and note how things come apart so you can put them back together the same.

1st,get bigger hog ring pliers, the ones they supply are small and really hard on the hands, the hog rings they supply are the ones you want to use.
2nd,have someone help you, have them push on the foam with a 2x4 as your pulling the upholstery up on the foam,it's really tight,my Granddaughter helped with the 2x4.
Your hands are going to be sore for awhile.Good luck with your project.
Just take your time and note how things come apart so you can put them back together the same, like Coprice said.

Use a steamer to fluff up your seat foam.
