Are 3rd gen power windows suppose to roll down without the key in the ignition? My 92 camaro use to do that but now they dont do that anymore. I have to have the key forward on acc.. but my buddys 88 trans am rolls down with no key in the ignition.. if they are suppose to be like that, what could be the problem why they dont roll down anymore unless I have the key in the ignition? Maybe a relay?

 

You are supposed to have the key in. Chances are your buddy wired his up to always have power or something was hung in the ignition causing the phenomenon.

 

hello I just noticed my passenger window does not move how do find the fault , ie is it the switch or a relay or the motor, any help would be great car is 84 z28

 

Use a multimeter and check for battery voltage at the motor wires while you push the switch.
