85 firebird base steering wheel size??

I have an 85 bird and like usual the steering wheel is garbage. I'm thinking about buying a cover for now bcz it needs a new column. How big is te stock steering wheel? I work out of town an my car is three states away.
Thanks in advance

Re: 85 firebird base steering wheel size??

The 85-87 3-spoke leather Trans Am steering wheel is 14" (across the center). I've got one, not perfect - but pretty good shape.

I've 1 Grant Steering Wheel that's 13" "(across the center) and a second one (different style) that's a little bigger than 13". Seems like every aftermarket wheel I see is smaller then stock.

Figure this might be worth mentioning; I've got a good steering column (tight TILT) that's already got a GRANT steering wheel adapter installed on it. It's a fully 'loaded' column from an 86Z with Delay and Cruise Control; and the 2 Grant wheels,..... When your ready to replace the failing parts on your ride feel free to send me a PM, I might still have what you need.
