Spare and Jack nightmare!

Hello everyone!
i was at the scrap yard today and i found a brand new, never used jack and spare. My 1985 z28 didn't have one when a purchased it about 5 years ago and figured i should get one.

I pulled the components out of a 91.
Unfortunately idk how to put back into my car.
I was wondering if anyone knew how, maybe you could possibly give me a step by step,or maybe even a helpful video.I appreciate any help

Thank-you

Re: Spare and Jack nightmare!

87 and newer use a different style jack. It will work just as well, but you can't stow it like the original style. May have been 86 and newer.

'82-'86 had a ratchet-style jack. '87 and newer got a scissor-style jack. The mounting brackets for the jack that are attached to the body for each style jack was different.

Re: Spare and Jack nightmare!

You'll have to rig up a way to mount it.I have the later style in my 84.Using the big center bolt/hook to hold the jack/spare inplace.Id put the rachet type on, but those things are junk.
