I recently bought a 1986 Trans am to replace my totaled 1985 Trans Am. One problem with the interior that I noticed is that, in the hatch, on the drivers side were the storage box is, the interior plastic is about one inch separated from the side of the car. Like I said I had a 1985, so I know that usually there would be 3 metal tabs that would stick out, that you would put those plastic retainers in but they are missing. I was thinking that I could go to the department store and get something along the lines of a furniture corner bracket that could be used to supplement the factory tabs.

Has anyone else has this problem and/or know of a way to fix this.

I am talking about this side. The 3 metal tabs are missing. (they hold the plastic inserts that you push the retainers into)

 

Wow,wonder why someone would remove those?don't know what you could do there.

 

Is there anyone out there that has a parts car that would be willing to take them off and sell them to me?
