Need help with seat braces!!

Hey everyone! So basically I have installed a new drivers side floor pan in my 86 t/a. Obviously, the old one had rotted out (t-top car), and the drivers seat braces (support, rail, etc) rotted with it. The new pans do not come with these, and I can't seem to find them anywhere new. Buying salvaged ones would of been okay, however more work than just making them with material I already have.

I managed to salvage the rear one with a little grinding, blasting, and welding in some new metal and bolts/studs, and the front one I am making from some square tubing. Should be a lot stronger than OEM anyways.

My question is for anyone that has the drivers front seat support, or has there carpet out and can take a look at it for me (my old rotten one was completely toast and I scrapped it long before doing this). When I mock my seat in, the left side foot (where you bolt it to the floor, seat side) seems higher than the right side. So basically, I would need to step my brace down from left to right to about an inch lower for the right seat "foot" (closest to trans tunnel) to bolt onto.

I can almost swear I remember the brace being the same height all the way across... I'm thinking maybe my seat twisted as it was piled in the shed... I am upgrading to 4th gen seats and I just want to make sure I get it right before I weld it in. I already made a brace that is straight across the same height, if it needs to step down I will modify it. If not I can burn it in and drop my new carpet down!

Someone must know better than me, any help is greatly appreciated and I hope I explained it well enough and not too confusing! thanks

This may help you some. I don't have a good picture of mine, but here's a pic. of my dad's 1982 firebird floors/seat supports

Thanks a lot! Thats perfect. So at a close look it does step down lower to the right. Any chance you'd be able to measure the height of the rail from floor to top flat right at the studs? (Not including studs as mine will be different)

Bump! Getting ready to burn them in today and would really like to get it right now so I don't have to modify them when I get the seats!

Re: Need help with seat braces!!

IDK if this makes any difference, but when i put racing seats in my car i noticed one side of the floor sits about an inch higher than the other. IDK if 4th gen floors are the same? i'm sure the seats will bolt in, but i had to compensate for the racing seats.

Re: Need help with seat braces!!

Thanks! Im also wondering if i could be out a touch since my floor is new and may not be 100% the same as factory. I can always shim the seat i was just confused because when i mocked my seat in onto my new front rail, the front left seat mount (where bolt goes through) was about an inch off the rail, so i assumed the rail must dip diown towards the right to level it, or my seat is twisted
