Trying to find a source for the brush bristle looking things for the e-brake hole on my 82-84 Firebird console.

I can't find a P/N for that and I don't know how the workings go under there, but you may be able to use something like door sweep material.

What he said. I might redo mine soon, but I have already converted the shifter sweep to door sweeps. Looks better in person.

With all the restoration parts available I'm surprised this isn't made! I'm sure every third gen will need them.

Re: Where to find the brush-bristle things for the e-brake hole?

I have my center console out for some interior wiring work this past winter and I thought about replacing mine too. The problem is the way they are mounted. They aren't in a plastic holder like the trunk ones are. The ones in the trunk just slide in and out of the holes in the plastic trim piece.

Unfortunately the ones on the ebrake handle are mounted permanently. It looks like they were placed over plastic pins that are molded into the underside of the console, then those pins were melted down to secure the bristles in place. To replace them, you would need to grind down the tops of the melted pins and pull them out. This wouldn't leave any way of mounting new ones without drilling holes through the top of the console to bolt or screw them in place.

Gorilla glue or dr bond works just fine. Survived a year so far in the florida heat. Also if you do the mod, it wont be removable without a heatgun or new center console.
