Flashlight Dimensions

Hi all. I have an 84 Z28 and my overhead flashlight was lost years ago. Could someone take measurements of yours for me because, at my high school we have a 3D Printer and I would like to try my hand at designing a new one. The design program uses millimeters so if the measurements could be in mm that would be great!
Thanks

Re: Flashlight Dimensions

I have the flashlight at home, ill lay it out next to a tape measure and snap some pics for you when i get home

the original flashlights are two pieces so it may take longer to design but should use less materials to print.

I'm genuinely excited for you to attempt this

Great idea! I have access to 3d printers too and have been trying to think of something to make! Fyi, saw one on ebay for 20 bucks the other day. But to say "I made this" is pretty cool!

Re: Flashlight Dimensions

I haven't been active on the boards for a long time but saw this post. My 84 belinetta never had the flashlight when I bought it. Original owner must have lost it. I have my own 3d printer and have been planning on doing just this for a while but haven't gotten around to it (my project car won't be running agian for quite some time). I found a few pics of the inards online and was going to do my best to make measurements from those and the slot In the overhead console. I've been planning on not just making a replacent, but rather modernizing the design with some high-power LEDs and a rechargeable battery. The overhead console already has 12v power running to it so adding a charging circut should be fairly simple. Have you guys ever completed this project?

I have a large format printer with dual extruders so I can print two colors at once, and I can print in ABS. I have black and red ABS so I figure a black housing with the camaro in red should look pretty sweet.

Re: Flashlight Dimensions

Instead of a flashlight, a popular option is to take the Homelink Garage door openers out of 2000ish DeVilles. Fits perfectly, and gives you garage door functionality. just an option.

Re: Flashlight Dimensions

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I have the identical issue on my 87 IROC, and looked through the search bar to see if anyone had been successful in 3D printing the flashlight. Would anyone have the photographs/dimensions of the flashlight handy that they could post up? Thanks!
