Driving with no Headliner

The headliner in my 85 T/A is gross so I am getting ready to recover it. I am trying to avoid buying a new board, I'd have to ship it to Canada and with our $ being garbage it gets expensive fast. So my plan is to remove my headliner and then bring it inside so I can take my time to mend and recover it as neatly as possible.

The problem is that the car is my daily and I'll have to drive it around without a headliner for a couple weeks. Has anyone done that? Any issues I should be aware of? Will it be really noisy inside?

If it makes a difference, this is a T-top car with the overhead console.

Go for it. I bet the bulk of these ttop cars are missing the headliner

Re: Driving with no Headliner
I don't know about ttops, but mine is a hardtop and I haven't had a headliner since I bought mine 4 months ago. Mine has been a work in progress so it's hard to say whether or not once it's finished the difference between having a headliner and not having one (besides the obvious cosmetic difference). But I have no problems with noise with it.

Re: Driving with no Headliner
My car has been without a headliner ever since I bought it. I also have the overhead console (added, as it wasn't an option in '83). I can't speak for if there is a noticeable difference as I've never been in it with a headliner but I certainly don't notice that it's not there unless I look up. With the console and the t-tops there isn't much to notice anyhow.

Thanks guys. If I get the time I am going to pull it out this weekend, getting anxious to get this nasty thing fixed up, it's the last peice of my interior that looks terrible.

I also haven't bothered about it much since I ripped it out 2 years ago on the Formula, after what looked like countless fixes that were already done by some of the preowners. Was always wanting to get one of Hawk's replacements at some point tho.
