Seats can someone point me in the right direction

HELP!
I've been looking around in RL & these forums. I'm looking for a seat that has more shoulder upper body bolstering than the stock seats but doesn't sit any higher than the stock seats. I have a hard top car and with stock seats my helmet on it touches the headliner. Also the seats have to be for a fat guy. I have a 48 inch waist. So far I've notice seats from Corbeau that are listed to fit a 42" waist are just big enough via sitting in some at a show room. I'm assuming other companies seat will be similar.
I'm trying to avoid what happened to me at a Corbeau dealer. After the salesman assured me that the Baja XRS seats would fit my Firebird I ordered some. I got the seats and quickly found out that yes they will bolt in but I'd have to be 5 foot 5 inches to use them with a helmet! That sat so freaking high up it was ridiculous!!! Then I could return them etc...
Suggestions are appreciated because I'm getting real tired holding my body upright while going around a turn with one hand while steering with the other!

What about a set of Corvette seats? They would sit low in a 'Vette so they might sit just right in a Camaro.

I've been told the brackets are radically different. I can't weld worth a dang so that might not be the route for me.

You would be amazed at that you can do with some steel angle. I bolted a set of 2003 Viper seats into a 1994 and 2003 Dodge Intrepid using the factory mounts on the seats, the OEM mounting holes, using the angle as the adapter.
No welds, just drilled holes and used what was already there for mounting points.

Corbeau can slim down the bottom at the factory for a better fit (recently heard-post purchase). Contact them directly. Also, I used 4th Gen brackets not 3rd Gen brackets.
I'm 6'4", and my helmet occasionly scrapes the T-top (yeah, they give more headroom).

Call or e-mail them directly on slimming the bottoms.
