Refreshed Z Cluster on my own

In my on going restoration of the 5.7 '88 Z i'm in the dash swap process and thought,...Hmmmm? i'd like to stay original BUT with a touch of change. Notice any change? i'm really liking them now. They will be backed up with led lighting. I also wet sanded (carefully!) and polished the lens. Still not satisfied with it completely as i need a finer (is that a word?) sandpaper to fine tune it to my personal satisfaction.. I'm also thinking of changing the Green Turn signal disks to Orange . The TACH is out now and waiting on shipping/payment info from TGO member gcj280.

Re: Refreshed Z Cluster on my own

A cloudy IP lens really detracts from the interior of a 3rd gen. Removing it and polishing it makes a HUGE difference. It's one of those little things which helps freshen a neglected interior up.

You can put an amber LED in the indicator sockets & will look amber w/ the green discs inplace.I did this with mine.Did you steam clean the cluster?

I removed the lens all together. ....maybe not great for a DD, but for me it's no biggie. I just hit it with some compressed air that I use for the computer keyboard. 'bout 18" away works great! ...lots of people notice how good it looks.

While you have the cluster out, you might repair the trip—I assume it's broken as most all are or will be:

For a bit more brightening/color:
