Speedo Noise/Bouncing and no oil pressure
So over the winter I pulled my gauge cluster (1987 camaro 350 tpi) to swap a few burnt up bulbs. I installed it and everything appeared to work fine. Fast forward to today, I took the car out for the first spin since Fall. Everything seemed fine until I hit about 35/40 MPH when my speedo starts making a terrible loud almost grinding noise. When this happens my needle starts to bounce and I also lose reading from my oil pressure gauge (pings at the top and bounces).
Once I slow back down to 20 or under this all goes away and the speeds begins working, no grinding, and I get oil pressure reading back.
I assume I did something when I removed/reinstalled the cluster. Just looking for pointers before I start messing with it tomorrow morning.
Edit: i pulled the gauge cluster again and noticed that the clip that holds the speedo cable into position is pretty warn. Is it possible that this is the problem? Also will it hurt anything if I was to drive it as it just to get it to my fathers garage?
