Rear seats

I recently bought an 84 and noticed the rear seats were separated but only passenger side has striker bolt... ? The driver side doesn't even have a spot for one... Also what are the 2 bolts for on the back of the seats??? I have a manual but I couldn't find anything in it about these things. As far as I know, the seats are original.

Re: Rear seats

The two bolts are from the shoulder seat belts, whoever took them out was kind enough to leave you the bolts

Re: Rear seats

Here is a problem I could never figure why my back seats have two latches and only
one striker bolt. Maybe was missing from factory, kinda weird.

Re: Rear seats

Yes, all stock I think there is no hole in the panel. Real strange.

Re: Rear seats

'84 did not have rear shoulder belts, plus the interior plastics would be different.

There would also be a metal center bar on the bottom in-between the seats that hold the seats to the floor.

You can always peek behind the drivers side panel to see if there is a place for the striker. IMO, it's not likely from what I've seen so far.

Re: Rear seats

Those seats are from a 88-92 camaro split rear with shoulder belts. Someone changed the original seats

Re: Rear seats

So what is the best way to address this? Should I try and put a striker bar in on the driver side? I think I saw someone else post about that...
thanks for the help so far, people.
