Carpet to cover interior trim pieces in rear?

Has anyone used the interior trim carpet kits from thirdgenranch? I would love to see some pictures on how they turned out. My plastic looks aweful and is becoming an eye sore compared to the rest of the car.

Do a search on the forum. Seem to remember comments both ways about the product. Some recent issues with ThirdGenranch also.

Thank you for the fast reply. I think I'll just try to create my own carpet pieces if paint doesn't look as good as I expect. It spends its whole life in the garage, so I'm not worried about sun fade. I didn't expect to see so much negative stuff about Thirdgenranch... I ordered a thing or 2 from them in the past, but primarily deal with Hawksthirdgen!! They are AWESOME!!

Thanks again for the prompt reply.

Re: Carpet to cover interior trim pieces in rear?

I bought a kit from Denny @ thirdgenranch a while back when he had them on sale. I went with a full kit which included the rear cargo cover and the lower kick panel pieces for a Bose equipped car.

I have installed the console carpet, but haven't got to any of the other stuff yet since I am also repainting all of the plastics too. The carpet seems to be good quality and I didn't have to trim much off at all to get it to fit.

Re: Carpet to cover interior trim pieces in rear?

I bought the thin light weight carpet from walmart (autozone has it too) and covered mine. Used 3M spray glue and hot glue to glue the carpet to panels.

Re: Carpet to cover interior trim pieces in rear?

I think I might get some of the cheap carpet from autozone or walmart and paint it to match the new carpet. Now I just need to find the right color. According to Hawksthirdgen, My carpet is Dove grey. Any ideas how to get paint to match that?

I believe SEM and Colorbond both have dove gray in their offerings. I also have used Dupli color ans it covers nice too.

Re: Carpet to cover interior trim pieces in rear?

Ended up getting SEM paint to paint the plastics. They had a color that matched almost PERFECTLY! I may cover some of the rear hatch pieces in the near future because the drivers side biggest piece has some of the original paint starting to disintegrate, and looks a little crappy the way it is. But after painting all the plastics in the interior, it still looks 100X better than it did. Well worth the $100 something I spent on Paint and Adhesion promoter.

Didn't know Classic had this,
#A9100289 82-92 Camaro/Firebird Cargo Area Side Carpet Set.
For some reason I can't copy and paste

A9100289 - 1982-92 Camaro / Firebird - Cargo Area Side Carpet Set - Medium Gray

Reproduction cargo area carpet for 1982-92 Camaro and Firebird models. This is die cut as original and will fit and function on all 1982-92 coupe models. Installs with spray adhesive. Made in the USA.

Re: Carpet to cover interior trim pieces in rear?

I have a set of the gray carpet from Third Gen Ranch that I won't be using now that I've got the right panels - make me an offer.
