climate controls disassembly

So I am wondering if its possible to further removed the plastic face plate from the camaro HVAC controls. This is as far as I can get it a part at the moment

The issue is an oil of some sort got between the plastic and the face plate which does not look very good. In order to clean this up I need to get the plastic face off. It would appear I need to remove the ***** on the sliders, but they don't seem to come off. Ideas?

Don't quote me and I don't have mine in front of me at the moment, but I think the two ***** for the sliders pull off so you can remove that clear lens.

Re: climate controls disassembly

I had to do that with mine. Once the ***** are removed, it's possible to carefully remove the lens.

How did you remove the *****? Without using a pair of pliers that would damage the *****, I don't see how to do this

Re: climate controls disassembly

Same here. I wedged my fingertips between the **** and the panel, and they came right off.
