90' RS Steering Column in 84' Z28?

Alright so I have an 84 Z28 which I will be replacing the steering column in. I have a column in my 90' RS which I have the key to. I know the car has VATS. So my question is if I can swap the column, then what all must I do to have it working properly. Thanks for any insight!

cables for shifter / neutral should fit the same if auto / auto.
turn signal switch wiring may vary.
Wiper motor wiring is probably the same.
cruise should be the same.
VATS doesn't matter in an '84.

It's a manual so thankfully none of the auto wiring. I'm just use to working on 2nd gens so the whole VATS system is kinda above my head. Thankful to hear it won't have an impact on the 84, I figured it would work going from VATS to no VATS but like I said, I'm used to the old school stuff and don't have a clue, I just know VATS can be a pain.
