Dynamat back side door card?
Hi,
Planning on installing Dynamat in my doors.
Has anyone tried installing it on the back of the door card (as pictured)?
This is how the original sound deadening material was attached. I'm just not sure if the Dynamat would be too heavy and deform the card.
Any insights or opinions appreciated!
Thanks,
John

Re: Dynamat back side door card?
I put my Dynomat directly on the door itself. For whatever reason, it just doesn't make as much sense to me to put it on the panel.

Re: Dynamat back side door card?
As it's deigned in part to damp vibration of the metal structure of the door, I would say panel mounting it would be less effective.

Dynamat, and the like, are ONLY a vibration damening product. you only need ~50% coverage on flat metal surfaces. You need mass to stop noise and mass loaded vinyl on the back of the door cards works very well. See sounddeadenershowdown.com for examples of how the products work, and how to apply them. Putting the Dynamat on the back of the doors won't do anything for you.
