Rear hatch motor
Does anyone know where i can find the electric hatch motor assembly for a 1992 Firebird? I have looked everywhere and cannot find one. Hawks third gen has it listed but they do not have any and do not know when they will get more of them. Thanks!

Re: Rear hatch motor
They dont have the whole assembly though. I see they have the repair kit and the gear and the motor but its all seperate.
Re: Rear hatch motor
I've got one off a late 91, had it listed for sale a LONG time without even a nibble. They aren't as problematic and they only fit 91.5-92 so theres no demand.

There's also someone on eBay that lists a rebuild service for 1991.5-92s for around $100.

Re: Rear hatch motor
I would just trash the pull down motor they were designed to fail I've had 3 separate third gen and all with the same issue I spent a lot of money putting everything in it new for it to break again when it got cold outside.I permanently mounted my hatch and works like a regular trunk now.The main issue is some people close the trunk hard and breaks the plastic gears in pull down motor then it doesn't latch.

Hmmm............
Cadillac used a similar pull down/motor trunk motor assem.
during the 80s-90s.
I wonder if they are the same or have the same part numbers?
They had the same issues as the cam/birds from the knuckleheads
slamming the trunk lid down instead of clicking the lid in place and
letting the pulldown feature do its work...............

Hawks motorsports (AKA Hawks third gen) has all the repair parts and assembly.

The slides they have are a good upgrade.
