Re: cruise control

The Cruise Control Module, pedal button(s) and the harness that connects it to the column will not be waiting inside the dash, You would need to add them separately. The dash harness to cruise harness connections to add the Cruise stuff are there, but the cruise wiring itself is not. If you decide upgrade to the Tilt/Cruise column and need the cruise module/wiring,..... I should have it.

Re: cruise control

Wouldn't 87 be a cable drive speedo though?

Yes, but as long as the car is fuel injected, it'll have the VSS sensor on the cluster and the harness plug for the cruise harness. By 87 I wouldnt be too surprised if even the garden variety basic LG4 used the VSS signal for something.

I wasn't sure HOW it would get the signal. I really know Firebirds, and I was going to reply to the OP first, but then I remembered Camaros were different. So he would need to get the signal from the cluster, as opposed to the other side of the car for the VSS. Also, the firebirds didn't have the necessary plugs and harness if the car wasn't originally equipped, that's what I was going to say in the first place. He is likely going to have to figure out how to make the connections, it's not like he can get a cruise harness and just plug it all in
