1991 Steering Wheel Airbag Cover

I was wondering if there is any way to fix this problem correctly on the steering wheel. The leather/rubber cover is popping out in the top right corner and is exposing the white plastic behind the airbag cover. It bothers me a lot because this is the only problem with the interior of my car.

Re: 1991 Steering Wheel Airbag Cover

My Camaro air bag was doing the same thing. The whitish plastic had also gotten so hard that honking the horn was nearly impossible too. I removed the bag and checked out the back. By taking some cutters I removed the plastic parts sticking out and more behind the horn button markings and any other bits that seemed warped or in the way. Put it back on and the horn works great and the bags cover was able to be bent back into the flat shape it once was.
May not be original but makes the air bag look and work better if you need to honk the horn. Up to you
Henry
