Dyeing seats a different color

The charcoal seats in my 91 rs are in pretty rough shape. I recently got some ocean blue seats for free but obviously they are the wrong color. Has anyone ever tried to dye seats a darker color? I don't need them to be charcoal as long as its either a dark grey or nearly black they would be better than my current seats. They were free so I'm not opposed to experimenting and seeing what happens im just wondering if anyone has ever tried it? Maybe I'm better off selling the blue ones?

new seat covers can be had for under $400. Selling your extra seats gets you closer to real seats.

No one reproduces any material that's even remotely close to correct for a '91 Camaro. Because of this, used Camaro seats usually sell for next to nothing unless they're perfect.

I've tried dyeing the Flame Red seats in my '91 RS with no luck -- they won't even dye back to the original color, much less a different one. The material just doesn't accept dye.

Not much you can do other than look for another set of seats.

Ooh! Or they got these unlicensed Wookiee pelt covers, if you're into that...
