mechanical speedo to electric

mechanical speedo to electric

i did some searching and didnt find much. has anybody ever converted the stock mechanical speedo in a camaro into an electric one. im not talking swapping out all the gauges just converting the speedometer. ive seen a couple online but havent found some one here thats done it.

The gauge panel looks like an all or nothing unit to me. I take it that you’re not concerned with the odometer? All I can suggest is to buy a cheap gauge panel from eBay and try to disassemble it. I’ve read lots of gauge threads, but I can’t recall one that modifies the stock panel. I’m kinda curious now.

I installed a VDO into my cluster keeping all of the other stock gages. required a bit of trimming.

had to relocate the high beam light to one of the indicators below by repining the connector.
