Just bought a set of seats that we're listed as factory 99 transam leather seats...
But they don't have plastic backs, was there a factory set with no plastic backs?

I've only seen that back on 4th gen Camaro, but everything else like seat bottom n headrest looks like Firebird
The more I dig into these, the more I think these are factory cloth seats redone with leather, which is not what I wanted. There is no lumbar or bolster pumps either. I got them from Hawks off eBay, I thought since they are fbody experienced seller I could trust the listing, there was no pictures of the back.
Plan was to recover these and replace the 95 seats I currently have in the 89. I should of refused the shipment I suppose.

My 87 has the 99 Leather seats with plastic back that ARE lumbar seats, my old 99 trans am has leather NON lumbar seats and IIRC there were not plastic back and IMO the non lumbar were/are more comfortable for me as im kinda bigger(wider) than most
I doubt those are recovered cloth seat

Did the 99 leather non lumbar seats have plastic backs? Not sure I want to use these, they are smaller bolster so they do fit looser but I liked the inflatable bolster for spirited driving.Originally Posted by zman1969

Those are the base leather seats. No lumbar, no plastic trim. Standard equipment in 1998-02 T/A's, but most cars got the optional lumbar seats.
